Steadily making progress, participants of the National Female Pre-Tech Training Programme held its third session yesterday. The training started with the class picking up where they left off on Tuesday. The objective for the day was for them to create a random word generator application.
The students are currently using Flutlab.io software to run their apps. Flutlab is an online IDE designed to build cross-platform applications using flutter. The complete process from writing the code to running it in the emulator is done in the cloud, and one gets the experience of developing an application on a local machine. They then started with their first demo app and spent time troubleshooting their installations.
Ms Mazior then took the ladies through using flutter to create a first homepage that says hello world, what the boilerplate code means, explained what classes were, the void meaning function, widgets in a flutter, stateless and stateful widgets, etc. Their trainer guided the students to also change some of the colours in their theme. The ladies have started building the first version of their app, which is a random word generator application.
To lighten the mood, Participants had a mini birthday celebration for one of their colleagues during lunch break and continued working on their apps after they returned till the class ended.
