On 1st September 2021, the second session for week 5 started with an introduction to graphic designing. The students were taken through the steps of creating a logo using the Canva app. They then continued their discussion on the business model canvas. And finally, the group discussions followed to allow the students to finish up their prototypes in time.
Ms. Oreo introduced the students to Canva to help them design logos and brochures. She asked them to go to www.canva.com and create accounts. She taught them how to choose templates and further design them to their preference. The trainer explained the various functions that canva offered and the elements that come with each design. She taught the students how to add and remove the various elements, and also group and ungroup them. The students explored the different color schemes and various designs.
The trainer discussed with the students the last five blocks to complete the business model canvas which they started in their last session. The five blocks include; key activities, key partners, key resources, cost structure, and revenue streams. These blocks served as a guide for the students to complete their projects. The students were given the last few minutes of the class to have group meetings and continue their projects.
The trainer tasked the students to create a team logo as an assignment. She then gave them a reminder of the list of things to have and complete before graduation. These include their assignments, research decks, research workbooks, team logos, individual and team photos, product prototypes, marketing prototypes, and websites. A few students stayed behind to work on their projects and assignments after the class ended.
