Cohort 1 of the Upshift program started its fifth week of training on 31st August 2021. To start the class, the students played a Kahoot game to refresh their memory. The trainer went on to talk about the topic for the day, Microsoft Powerpoint.
The trainer showed the students how to launch Microsoft Powerpoint on their computers. He assisted those who needed help. He also explained to the students how to access Powerpoint with the different laptops as some of the laptops had the older versions of the Windows operating system.
Mr. Jerry taught the girls how to create a new Powerpoint presentation. He explained the various elements of the application to the students. He then asked the students to choose their preferred themes. He further explained the different tabs in the application. The students were then asked to create two slides document; the first one a heading page and the second one with a description of themselves. The trainer taught them how to save the presentation on their laptops and how to access them later.
In wrapping up the session, the students took turns to present their Powerpoint presentations. They each gave an introduction and said three interesting things about themselves. The class was dismissed after the presentation.
