Our CEO, Mrs. Regina Honu had the most amazing time at the AFS Global Conference in beautiful Montreal.
It was a pleasure to share on her work and impact at the opening plenary with her #gigi from WEAR GHANA made with Vlisco fabric. She learned so much about rethinking global education, what was next, what made a school global-ready, and crafting your pitch to fund global citizens and global competence initiatives. There was also the launch of a great educational documentary called Crash Test World that teaches children global competence through storytelling and media.
Another highlight was the AFS Prize for the young active global citizen. Shout out to Elijah Amoo Addo for being a finalist and his amazing work. The winner was Luis Fernanda Romero from Get Up and Go Columbia.
As a judge of the prize, Our CEO was happy to see that out of 450 applicants worldwide the shortlist of ten had two Ghanaians. Elijah and Shirley Heidi Ofori who runs an amazing social project called RedGirl Campaign under her organization Heidi Health.
Shirley is part of our Women in Digital Skills Cohort and we are so proud of her. #AFScon
