The 1st session of week 2 started with the trainer doing a recap of what the participants did in the last session of week 1 by playing a kahoot game.
The trainer later introduced them to Social Listening and Monitoring. Social listening is tracking, analysing and responding to conversations online and Social monitoring is actively looking for mentions and cases that pertain to your brand, product, keywords, hashtag and conversations. He also explained the benefits of social listening and Monitoring.
The trainer then explained what Content Marketing is, the purpose and benefits of content marketing, content marketing ideas, He also explained what content strategy is. This is basically using content to achieve your business goals on social media.
He again explained social marketers’ top goals for social media. This included; increasing brand awareness, sales/ lead generation, increasing community engagement, growing one’s brand audience and increasing web traffic.
The trainer ended the session by explaining how to prepare content for social media. This included thinking about the format, focusing on the audience, keeping it short and thinking of your story in chapters.
The second session of week 2 started with the trainer recapping a few things that he taught during the previous session.
He then began introducing the participants to content type by the media platform. This includes written posts, blogs articles, guides, links to external content, images, videos, and infographics.
He later explained what a Call to action is. This is a marketing term for any design to prompt an immediate response or encourage an immediate sale.
He also talked about how to write a call to action. He later explained Social Media Engagement. This is the measurement of comments, likes, and shares.
He also talked about calculating social media engagement, how to increase social media engagement and social media engagement tools such as Canva and hootsuite which can be used for photo editing, clip app and a for video editing, GIFs, analytics.
He later explained how to measure social media engagement as well as social media analytics which is important to measuring the success of one’s brand. The session ended with the trainer talking about essential things that are needed.
This included, always remembering to humanize one’s brand on social media, knowing one’s brand voice, not forgetting hashtags, checking and double-checking for spelling errors before posting, and knowing how to use CTA(Call to Action) such as; donate, download, buy, comment, like, etc.
