It’s the last day of Week 2 of the Soronko ABCDE V-stem Program. The day’s session began with a recap of what they learnt on Wednesday, shortly after participants were tasked to start their typing practice online using the speed typing online platform.
Next, Miss Oreo introduced the main topic for the day which was “Google Slides”. She explained that Google Slides is one of the products in Google Suites and also similar to Microsoft PowerPoint software but, Google slides is the online version of it. She added that, if participants could use PowerPoint easily, then there is the possibility that using google slides will be simpler for them. Students were led by the trainer to do a class exercise on it to see how it works. The new thing Miss Ore introduced to the class, was selecting a template that suits the purpose of the work. Thereafter she introduced them to shortcuts that would be beneficial to them whenever they were working on Google Slides for their presentations.
Later, students were grouped and made presentations in class. This was interactive as it pushed every individual to work in teams and also served as an avenue to know each other better. To end today’s session students were assigned two tasks. The class was asked to create presentations using every technique they have been taught and also to come out with brilliant ideas. The next task Miss Oreo gave them was for them to submit a presentation on all the notes they have accumulated in the past two weeks. We had a terrific session and we look forward to next week’s session with these amazing young ones.
