On 27th August 2021, Cohort 1 participants of the UPSHIT Social Innovation Training program had their Soft Skills Session for Week 4. The participants learned table etiquette rules in today’s soft skills session. Miss Annette Agyare, Hr of Soronko Academy, introduced etiquette as a French word that means “ticket to success” at the start of the session. It’s also a code of conduct that emphasizes consideration for others. Don’t forget to use words like please and thank you when communicating, she advised.
Following that, a few students demonstrated proper greeting etiquette. Miss Annette later taught them some rules of personal etiquette. Treating people with respect, genuine compliments, listening before speaking, and speaking with kindness and caution were among them.
These include not talking when your mouth is full, keeping electronic devices off the table, and using proper cutlery when eating. Following that, Miss Annette demonstrated how to eat with cutlery. Each student was allowed to demonstrate proper cutlery use, with the best student receiving a prize.
At the end of the lesson, the students were encouraged to put these rules into practice because they will help them enhance their personalities. Following that, the students left the academy.
