The fourth session of the National Female Pretech Training began with the ladies presenting their completed assignments from yesterday.
The first group presented on a beautiful, catchy flyer and contact card that was simple and minimal but an efficient design, the second group, presented on a flyer that was dominated with green and white colours, the third group presented on a stunning and efficient design, and lastly, the fourth group had a dominating colour of green of both contact card and flyer.
After the presentation, the lead trainer Jerry enquired from the ladies what they had learned from working in teams and the ladies mentioned that they had learnt how to coordinate in a group. Next, the trainer commented on the works of the ladies and suggested ways they could have efficiently applied the elements and principles of design in their assignments and urged them to make the necessary corrections.
The next topic the trainer introduced was photography. He defined photography as the process of capturing light. Students were then taken through the different types of photography and then introduced the ladies to some popular photographers and their works.
The participants were paired up for an activity where a student played the role of the photographer and the other person a model. After taking portraits of themselves, Jerry explained the different camera modes on mobile phones and what each can be used for.
A student asked “if the beauty of a picture is dependent on the equipment or the photographer”, the trainer answered by saying to the class that, the beauty of a picture is dependent on the balance between the skill, experience and equipment of the photographer. Students were then tasked to examine a video by the director David Nicole Sey.
Next, the ladies learned about composition techniques; Rule of Thirds, Centered Composition and Symmetry, Foreground interest and Depth, Fill the Frame. After this, the class then segued into discussing logos in Canva and the importance of having a logo.
In closing, the trainer assigned the ladies to create a logo for one of the ladies’ catfish and banku business and then requested they take a picture of a Ghanaian moment and submit it to him.
