Our C.E.O has the opportunity to visit the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France to speak on a round table discussion on Closing the gender gap in Computer Science. She spoke on the barriers and the strategies of closing the gender gap. She also shared on the work we have been doing with Techneedsgirlsgh and Soronko Academy.
She met the Ghanaian Ambassador to France and her team. She is also a permanent delegate to UNESCO. It was really nice that she came to show her support with her team. The former ambassador to France and the current president of Heritage and Cultural Society of Africa was also present to show her support. She is also the chair of the UNESCO/IFAP project Girls Can Code. They spoke about the Girls Can Code project and shared it with the Director, Gender Equality Division, UNESCO. It was refreshing to hear that one of the key priorities of UNESCO is ensuring that Gender Issues are given all the necessary attention that is deserved.
After the presentation she had the opportunity to interact with other ambassadors and dignitaries, I shared my message on why she choose science .
It was a great experience and she left there with a huge Call to Action.
