The second week of Women In Digital Skills 11.0 kicked off on Monday, 18th January 2021. The participants signed a consent and commitment form to clarify their requirements and ensure they’re fully motivated to go through the training and accomplish set targets.
The trainer, Mr Cyril Agbewali took the ladies through Google Workspace. Google Workspace is a range of applications built by Google Inc. that helps individuals manage emails, documents, file sharing, video and audio conferencing, media and more in one Gmail account. Some services within this package include Gmail, Drive, YouTube, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Calendar, Currents and more. The trainer explained how important these services were noting how they help prevent data loss, file security, flexibility and accessibility.
The participants got an overview of Google Docs, learning how to format texts and download documents in various formats. They also learnt how to work with Google slides, creating slide presentations with different layouts and themes. The trainer also took them through the process of migrating templates from third party services such as ‘SlidesGo’ into Google slides. The ladies were also introduced to the speaker notes function which enables a user/speaker to leave notes/bits of information that are available to them regarding a particular slide.
The week wrapped up with a soft skills session led by the Career Guidance Advisor of Soronko Academy, Madam Josephine Offei on Friday taking the ladies through Career Development and Self Confidence.
