The Upshift program’s Cohort 2 held its first session for Week 6, the final week, on Monday, September 6, 2021. The session focused on the participants’ progress reports for their various projects. During the upshift training session, there was also a discussion about the Business Model Canvas.
Ms. Oreo started the session by asking the students to update her on their projects. The students were required to give a presentation on how far their social innovation projects had progressed.
Following that, the trainer showed pitching videos to the participants to help them understand how to deliver efficient pitches. They also reviewed their pitch decks, which they would present on graduation day. A pitch deck is a brief presentation that gives potential investors or clients an overview of your business plan, products, services, and growth traction.
They then went over the websites they had created in the previous session. They went through their research workbook to fill in and complete the necessary details. They also took professional individual and team photos for their websites.
The last hour of the class was used for group meetings to allow the students to work on their projects, prototypes, and pitch decks. After which the class ended and the students departed.
