Week 2 began with a recap of what was done in the previous week.
The trainer then introduced the class to what wireframe is. This is a skeletal static, low-fidelity representation of the different layouts on a website. He also talked about what the wireframe includes. They include; content, structure, hierarchy, functionality and behaviour. He showed the participants pictures of a wireframe.
He later walked them through basic graphic design principles.
He explained what colour theory is and how it can be used well. He also walked them through typography and explained why it’s important when designing.
He later walked them through the design rule. He introduced them to a free website, Canva which can aid them in designing.
He ended the class by showing the participants varieties of websites ranging from food, clothes, and educational businesses. He also gave them the assignment to get the Wireframes for their various websites done in addition to drafting all the content they want to see on their websites before the next session.
Week 2 ended with a soft skills session which was led by Miss Jennifer Moffat, CEO of Gift Haven.
She began by introducing herself and all she does and also called on the participants to introduce themselves.
She enquired from the participants how many of them were engaged in more than one business. Two of the participants identified as Rebecca(Engaged in catering services, runs a provision shop and is also a farmer) and Eugenia(Has a Ngo for women and has a stem program for kids and is also an engineer) responded doing more than one business.
Miss Jennifer walked the ladies through how she is known for many businesses because she loves to provide solutions to problems, which is one of the major goals of entrepreneurship.
She walked them through her journey of how she started the Gift Haven from her days as a student at the University of Ghana. She also walked them through how to find business ideas and execute those ideas. She talked about how to run the day to day activities of a business.
She encouraged the ladies to be persistent in following their dreams and also encouraged them to get side hustles as it is now becoming a necessity.
She asked Eugenia how she manages her time and she said she usually plans her day and week and she keeps journals to help her remember to always meet her deadlines.
The session ended with the trainer Setornam
asking the participants to create accounts on infinity.free.net, a site for free domain hosting.
He also introduced them to Google’s domain checker. This is also a site for checking domain names available.
