Summary
The Software Trainer is responsible for teaching a class on technical courses in intermediate and advanced technology and coding skills.
Role and Responsibilities
Teach students how to be proficient in
- WordPress
- Digital Marketing
- Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides)
- Assist in the design and development of curriculum and course outline
- Assess individual training needs and tailor training methods as needed
- Prepare, plan and research teaching materials and lessons
- Spend contact time with student or groups, inspecting examinations, checking and assessing student work, and providing feedback
- Make use of new technology such as distance learning or video conferencing; keep
- Collaborate with the lead trainer to keep curriculum up to date on IT skills and market trends
- Perform all other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of programming experience
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid problem-solving skills, good debugging skills required to determine a problem when the need arises
- Demonstrated creativity and strong commercial awareness
- Strong customer service approach and orientation required
Qualities
- Ability to exercise patience as a trainer with trainees possessing a varying degree of computer knowledge/system skills
- Ability to instruct individuals and/or groups for several hours
- Flexible and enjoys change, ability to work in a small team
- Accuracy and attention to detail a must
- Understanding and empathy, ability to relate to children and parents alike
