While on a study trip in Ghana and Kenya with an emphasis on female entrepreneurship, 13 students and a faculty member from the MIT Sloan School of Management in the United States visited the Academy. It was an honor to welcome them. Our CEO, Mrs. Regina Honu, gave a talk about her journey after a tour of the Academy.
Mrs. Regina gave a succinct and insightful presentation on the reasons for and methods used in the founding of the Academy, its successes and collaboration with various hubs to reach more local and international women, the difficulties the Academy faces, and its capacity and methods for raising additional internal funds.
She also spoke about Tech Needs Girls, a pioneering program designed to mentor and introduce girls to STEM programs. The mentoring initiative eventually evolved into Soronko Academy. She gave an overview of our training programs and highlighted the Academy’s achievements so far, having educated more than 24,000 girls.
Some students made recommendations on how Soronko might advance to reach more girls and have a bigger effect on the Ghanaian tech landscape,
A group picture was taken to wrap out the session. #entrepreneurship #tech #collaboration #mentoring #training #management

We believe in creating the next generation of critical thinkers and problem solvers in the technology space.
