The 4th cohort of the Code With Agility program has just finished their fourth week of training. This week, the web class was introduced to website development. The trainer talked about the principles of web development, careers in the field, and the processes involved in web design and development. The class created accounts on dev.pantheonsite.io and WordPress with which they will be creating their websites. They also created wireframes for their businesses.
The python class was introduced to the Django framework, which makes it easier to create a website with python. They were taught how Django works and asked to install it on their computers. The trainer taught them how to make their Django projects in a virtual environment on their computers and run them to see what they look like in a browser. The class was also taught to create a simple Django app called Hello World!.
This week’s soft skills session was facilitated by Mrs Annette Quarshie, the Human Resource Manager of Soronko Academy. She spoke about how you can land your dream job. She shared with the participants how a well-written CV and cover letter could push you further in landing your dream job. She encouraged them to be confident and not be discouraged when rejected but keep pushing till they succeed.
