In today’s session of the VIVO Energy/ABCDE VE-STEM training, the trainer continued with the building of the website using the Local app(which is an offline hosting platform). Their trainer, Ms Oreo helped the student on getting started on using WordPress.
The students led by their trainer started their website development journey with Local by following these steps; Open up Local and “Start Site”, Click “Admin” to log in to WordPress Dashboard, Activate Plugins, Add Install and Activate “ASTRA” Theme, Create Web Pages with Elementor Canvas setting, Create Nav Menu, Edit Web Pages like a sketch in Elementor. Ms Oreo checked to see whether every step was done right by the students while they were engaged in this activity.
Afterwards, they moved on to how “Elementor Website” was used. She then stated the steps required in using the Elementor Website. The steps used as Create Header & Footer Sections with “Element Kits”, Save as Templates, Add other Sections from “Starter Templates”, Edit contents in Elements, Build other Web Pages in Elementor, Create forms with “WP Forms” if required and Edit website’s “Site Settings”.
From there she led the class to build up their created but unfinished website. They were taught how to insert a video and a picture and that was the end of today’s session. The website’s name is “Brave house”.
